Sustainable Innovation: Cadica’s Label Made with Orange Fiber Yarn

Cadica is continuously on the lookout for innovative and sustainable solutions for the fashion industry. Today, we are excited to introduce a special project: an exclusive label created using Orange Fiber yarn, crafted by a pioneering company in textile materials derived from orange by-products. Founded in Catania in 2014, Orange Fiber produces high-quality fabrics for the luxury fashion sector. The Orange Fiber yarn is made from Tencel Limited Edition X Orange Fiber fiber, produced in Austria and spun in Italy. This label underscores our commitment to upcycling processes while upholding the quality and design that define us.

What is Orange Fiber?

Orange Fiber is a unique yarn derived from “pastazzo” the by-product left after citrus fruits are juiced. This waste accounts for around 60% of an orange’s weight and, through an innovative process, is transformed into a textile fiber.

Innovation and Sustainability in a Single Product

Cadica’s label is composed of 35% Orange Fiber yarn, combined with cellulose acetate yarn and a cotton base. This mix of natural materials avoids the use of synthetic raw materials, while delivering a pleasant softness and high aesthetic quality.

A Label for a Responsible Choice

The fashion industry plays a crucial role in managing the planet’s resources, and every small step can make a difference. Creating this label from plant by-products is a tangible example of how agricultural residues can be transformed into useful materials for textile production.
